The West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association and the Pacific Street Car Association announced on Monday that they have formed a partnership for the 2013 racing season that will span three events, effectively replacing the PSCA’s Pro Street division, the quickest and fastest class in the series, with the WCOPMA’s exciting Pro Modified competition. Two of these three events will take place at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, while the other will be contested at the Sacramento Raceway Park. A fourth event combining the two west coast-based series is said to be pending. Hughes Performance will remain as a sponsor of the Pro Street class.

The first of these three events, the Ford Racing Record Breaker Nationals in Las Vegas on the weekend of February 8-10, will kick off the 2013 campaign for both the PSCA and the WCOPMA. The second combo race will be held at Sacramento, which interestingly, will mark the first time the PSCA has visited the Northern California facility in ten years. Many of the WCOPMA’s racers operate out of the Sacramento area, making this an obvious and popular stop for the two series this season.

The eighth mile-only race in Sacramento will be conducted on March 22-24, with the third and final event for the PSCA and WCOPMA taking place back in Las Vegas on April 26-28 with the MagnaFuel Vegas Nationals.

“It’s great that both the WCOPMA and PSCA can work together to put on some awesome events this year for the racers, fans and race tracks,” Rod Burbage, president of the WCOPMA, said. “We think that two of the biggest associations working together will only better the growth of Pro Mod racing on the West Coast.

“It’s a great opportunity for us to run at an awesome facility like Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Mel Roth, president of the PSCA, has a great relationship with LVMS and for us to bring our show to his already action packed events will really make for some great events not to miss this season!”

“This is a win-win for both groups,” Roth said. “We will both reach new fan bases and when there are more racers and more races, that’s always a plus because race fans get to do what race fans love to do: watch great racing! Going back to Sacremento after ten years is going to be a great time and I think we’ve shown what our racers can do at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.”
