Mickey Thompson Tires DragZine Race Report

r2NHRA: Race recap from Brainerd. Ron Capps rallied back from a spectacular explosion in qualifying to score his third win of the season in Funny Car at the Lucas Oil Nationals in Brainerd, Minn. on Sunday over his teammate Matt Hagan. Capps’ Top Fuel teammate, Spencer Massey, made it a double-up affair for team owner Don Schumacher, scoring his fourth win of the season over perennial bridesmaid Clay Millican in the final, 3.81 to 3.85. And in Pro Stock, Mike Edwards put the brakes on the Dodge juggernaut, scoring his fifth win of the season with a 6.62 to 6.66 defeat of V. Gaines in the final.
