A little under a year ago, the IHRA announced at the PRI Show that it had acquired historic Maple Grove Raceway, but the situation at the facility might be changing.
The official Maple Grove Raceway Facebook page announced that, effective August 17, 2026, the track was closed, and its racing schedule was suspended for “strategic refocusing, restructuring, and regrouping.”
The IHRA’s troubles have been well documented and continue to grow. Originally, Maple Grove Raceway was scheduled to host the finals of the million-dollar IHRA Triple Crown series. That event was ultimately canceled as the IHRA wound down its national event operations.

After the Facebook announcement was made, Ander Anderson of FRBR Promotions posted a video on Facebook announcing that the Keystone Classic, a bracket racing event he promotes, was canceled. Anderson said he had spoken with the owners, who confirmed that Maple Grove Raceway is pausing operations as it restructures and works on a plan to move forward.
Right now, no timetable for Maple Grove Raceway to reopen has been revealed.
