ADRL: Same Day Race Coverage here on DRAGZINE. The ADRL returned to its home track for the first time since 2010 over the weekend for the Gateway Drags IV, and thanks to unseasonably cool conditions throughout the event, both official and unofficial records were aplenty in nearly every category. Todd Hoerner made history in Extreme Pro Stock, beating out a record, all-4.0-second field to become the first EFI-equipped racer to win a national event in the category. In Pro Nitrous, Doug Reisterer didn’t arrive until a few hours prior to the final qualifying session and motored through the field in underdog fashion to claim the hardware in a great final with Burton Auxier. Pro Extreme was virtually dominated by Mick Snyder, who qualified No. 1 and cruised through eliminations, ultimately taking a break single in the final when teammate Jason Scruggs couldn’t make the call. NHRA: Steve Torrence (Top Fuel) and Johnny Gray (Funny Car) both claimed popular wins on Sunday at the Toyota NHRA Supernationals at the historic Raceway Park in Englishtown, but their feats were overshadowed by the events of Friday’s evening qualifying session, when Spencer Massey recorded the quickest 1000-foot pass in Top Fuel history at 3.72-seconds, while teammate Ron Capps did likewise in Funny Car with a stunning 3.96. Greg Anderson put his brand new Camaro in the winners circle in its maiden outing in Pro Stock, and Eddie Krawiec kept the Harley undefeated streak alive this season with his third win on the year. IHRA Nitro Jam: Rains washed out the opening day of the Pittsburgh Nitro Jam at the Pittsburgh Raceway Park on Friday, but the skies cleared on Saturday as Peter Gallen scored one of the bigger wins of his career in defeating legend Dale Pulde in the Prostalgia Funny Car final round. Bill Evans (Pro Fuel Dragster), Ron Maroney (Fuel Altered), and Jay Turner (Nitro Harley) were also winners on Saturday night. For more from Pittsburgh, click over to IHRA.com.

NHRA Division 4: Justin Rosen drove his J/D to the Competition Eliminator crown at Louisana’s No Problem Raceway on Sunday, downing Justin Tanksley and his C/D in the money round. Jimmy Hidalgo was dead-on 11.07 in the Super Stock final to claim the hardware, while Slate Cummings won a heads-up B/SA Stock Eliminator final despite a huge holeshot advantage by David Latino. David Cool and Vincent Catalanotto were winners in Top Dragster and Top Sportsman, respectively. For Sunday’s final round results from Belle Rose, log on to NHRADiv4.com.

NHRA Division 5: Phil Unruh ran a dead-on 6.51 in the Top Dragster final to claim the victory at the Lucas Oil Series meet at the Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota on Sunday. Joining him was Top Sportsman winner Dave Slatten who received a break single in the final, Comp winner Bruno Massel, and a host of other deserving champions. Chevy High Nationals: The Atlanta Dragway was the site of the inaugural Chevy High Performance Nationals over the weekend, featuring a slew of GM and LSX-powered vehicles on the Georgia quarter-mile. Jimmy Sandefur claimed the Pro Mod title in his Monte Carlo with a 4.16 to 4.17 defeat of Lynne Milner, while the “Ohio Boyz” dominated the LSX Drag Radial category with Mike Brown downing teammate Mark Koehler with his best run of the weekend, a 7.43, in the final. Greg Delaney, driving for the formidable Baskin Racing team, drove the teams’ 2010 Camaro to the LSX All Motor crown, while Adam Preston claimed the victory in EFI Real Street. Check out coverage of the CHP Nationals provided by our good friends over at the NMCA and Fastest Street Car Magazine.

IHRA: Cody Bayus earned the Top Dragster title at the combined Divisions 1 and 3 Pro-Am Series event at the Pittsburgh Raceway Park over the weekend as he nailed John Farr to the tree and was never headed. Rob Harvischak did likewise in Top Sportsman. Emily Volkman scored the win in Super Stock with a better light in the double-breakout final, and Rob Bihl took the Stock Eliminator crown on Dennis Finan’s final round red bulb.
