Three-day drag-and-drive events continue to grow in popularity across the country, giving racers a more condensed version of the traditional five-day format. Pistons In The Pines is one of those events, taking competitors on a scenic tour through Maine as they travel from Fernald Field Dragway to Oxford Dragway and back.
Like the Heads Up Hustle, Pistons In The Pines begins and ends at the same dragstrip after making a stop at a second facility. What makes this event unique is the route competitors get to enjoy between tracks. During this year’s Day 1 cruise, racers traveled along Maine’s coastal Route 1, giving participants the opportunity to enjoy one of the state’s most scenic drives while putting miles on their street-driven race cars.
Multiple Classes Offer Something For Every Racer
Pistons In The Pines featured a wide variety of classes, including:

- Small Tire
- Stick Shift
- Gasser/Hot Rod
- Tailgate
- All-Wheel Drive
The diverse class lineup gave racers plenty of opportunities to compete, regardless of the type of vehicle they brought to the event.
