
New England Dragway first opened its gates in 1966. Over the past 60 years, the iconic facility nestled in Epping, New Hampshire, has helped keep the spirit of drag racing alive for generations of racers and fans.
There’s something special about tracks like New England Dragway. Facilities with decades of history have a character and atmosphere that modern racing venues simply can’t replicate. Everything feels a little closer, a little more personal, and a little more connected to the roots of the sport.

That unique charm is one of the reasons fans flock to New England Dragway each year when the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series rolls into town for the NHRA New England Nationals. The event brings some of the biggest names in drag racing to one of the sport’s most beloved venues.
We sent photographer Cody Lyons to the 2026 NHRA New England Nationals with one mission: tell the story of the event through his lens.
It’s safe to say he accomplished that mission.
Although Mother Nature brought the weekend to an early close just before the Top Fuel and Funny Car final rounds, the event still delivered plenty of memorable moments both on and off the track. From the action in the staging lanes to the intensity on the starting line, Cody captured the atmosphere that makes the New England Nationals a fan favorite on the NHRA schedule.
