Audi is known for its impressive lineup of performance sedans, but the R8 is an entirely different animal. This German two-door supercar was designed to go toe-to-toe with the best performance machines Italy has to offer. JR Pines took his 2023 Audi R8 to Cicio Performance to elevate its performance to an entirely new level.

Like anything with four wheels and an engine, gearheads are always looking for ways to improve a vehicle like the R8. Unfortunately, Pines had a bad experience with the first shop that worked on his Kemora Grey Audi. That led him to Cicio Performance, where the team was tasked with not only making things right, but also transforming the R8 into a serious high-performance machine.

Pines’ R8 received the full lineup of Cicio C1400 upgrades, pushing the Audi into the 1,400-horsepower range. The build features a Cicio Extreme Turbo System equipped with a pair of 67mm Xona Rotor turbochargers. The fuel system was upgraded to support the added power, while a MoTeC ECU manages all engine functions, including control of the Heffner Performance transmission.

The R8’s stance also received a major upgrade thanks to a KW Suspension lowering kit. A car of this caliber demands the right wheel and tire package, so Cicio Performance turned to Forgeline for the finishing touch.

Up front, the Audi rides on 18×8.5 Forgeline one-piece forged monoblock GS1R wheels wrapped in Toyo Proxes R888R tires. To ensure the R8 had enough traction to handle its massive power output, the rear received 18×12 Forgeline forged monoblock GS1R beadlock wheels paired with Mickey Thompson ET Street S/S tires.

The final product speaks for itself: a well-balanced machine capable of holding its own against virtually any supercar on the road. So, if you happen to see JR Pines and his Audi R8 at the track or on the street, don’t assume it’s all show and no go, or you may end up swallowing your pride.
