The Performance Racing Industry show may cover the full spectrum of auto racing on a global scale, but we’d like to think drag racing is king at this annual meeting of the manufacturing and racing minds in Indianapolis. Year in and year out, the sport’s finest machinery puts that fact on full display. This year is certainly no exception, with two- and four-wheeled drag racing vehicles from every walk of life. We found everything from 10,000 horsepower Top Fuel Dragsters to Junior Dragsters, from strip to street, nitro and diesel, radial tire to no-prep.
Among the cars on display are NHRA U.S. Nationals Top Fuel champion Terry McMillen’s Amalie Oil dragster, NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle world champion, Matt Smith’s bike, Ryan Martin’s familiar Fireball Camaro and Jeff Lutz’s sleek ’57 Chevrolet made famous on Street Outlaws. We also found Larry Dixon’s wild two-seater Top Fueler, Leah Pritchett’s Factory Stock Showdown title-winning Dodge Challenger, the new 2018 Mustang Cobra Jet, the Beer Money Mustang from our very own Horsepower Wars $10K Drag Shootout, and many more.
