The world of wild single-digit quarter mile street cars seems to be growing every year. In the past, to be in the rare air of nine-second or quicker street cars, you needed big cubic inches and loads of power adder. And pump gas was practically a fantasy. Now, you can pick up cars off the showroom floor that nearly run in the nine-second zone, come with a warranty, and do it on pump gas.

Nizpro Turbocharging has built just that in a nine-second street car that runs on E85 and doesn’t even need eight cylinders to run deep into the single digits while in full street car trim.

The 2008 Ford FPV that Nizpro got their hands on may look like a four door daily driver, and that helps to hide its true potential. Under the hood, Nizpro worked their magic on the 4.0L inline six cylinder XR6T mill, rebuilding it for some high boost abuse. To help get the maximum potential out of the small displacement engine, Nizpro also added one of their signature intake manifolds, larger intercooler, and exhaust systems. To top off the power adding abilities, a Garrett GTX42R turbo was bolted on to crank up the 28psi of boost. All of this power is backed by a Nizpro Stage 3 ZF six speed automatic transmission and Circle D torque converter. When you mix this combo together a car emerges that has been as quick as 9.69 at 142 mph while driving to and from the track.

The FPV really doesn’t look like or sound like your typical nine-second car at all when it makes a pass. There is no “brouhaha” when it does a burnout, no obnoxious noise when it builds boost — just a quite rage that unleashes when the owner, Nem, lets it rip.
