2011 Nostalgia Pro Stock Association Schedule Released

Despite the awe-inspiring nature of today’s modern drag racing marvels, nostalgia still resonates with racing fans and competitors of all ages, and because of that fact, old school racing has become all the rage these days. First, it was front engined Nostalgia Top Fuel Dragsters, followed by the even more popular and still growing Nostalgia Funny Car movement. So what comes after that? Why, Pro Stock, of course.

The olden days of Pro Stock have been gaining steam with each passing year, as we see more and more original cars restored or replicated, and along with that, the creation of venues for Nostalgia Pro Stock-style cars to compete and put on a show for racing fans longing for the golden age of the 1970’s.

The Nostalgia Pro Stock Association has been in operation since 1994, originally with a host of original cars that had been updated and were running in bracket racing events and others that were of original form but in no shape for racing activity. In recent years the movement has gained some serious traction as several cars have been restored not only cosmetically, but to performance levels greater than they were originally. Many racers have also been converting their modern Stock and Super Stock machines over to Nostalgia Pro Stock form to get in on the parade.

The Nostalgia Pro Stock Association recently released it’s schedule and rules package for the 2011 season. The series will make stops in Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, and even Washington state between July and November.
