Australian Pro Stock superstar Shane Tucker, along with his father Rob, have moved their racing operations stateside during the winter months, as they depart the 400 cubic inch ranks of the Australian National Drag Racing Association back in their homeland for the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, where they plan to campaign a part-time schedule in the cut-throat factory hot rod division in 2014.

“We feel the time is right to make the move,” Rob Tucker said.

“Our team achieved some pretty cool things racing domestically but we want to race with the best and that means racing in the US.

“It was a tough decision and one that took a great deal of deliberating, Mum and Dad have guided me every step of the way and I’m sure they are just as excited as I am with what the future may hold.”

Tucker recently shared a first glimpse of the chariot he’ll carry into battle in the 500-inch ranks, the Chevrolet Cobalt formerly driven by Erica Enders-Stevens, acquired from the Cagnazzi Racing team and built in-house by Todd Bevis. The car will carry the colors of Auzmet Architectural, an Australian designer and manufacturer of custom facades for the commercial construction industry. According to Tucker, a brand new 2014 Chevrolet Camaro is under construction and will hit the race track in the first half of the season.

Tucker was previously a development driver for Cagnazzi Racing, earning his NHRA Pro Stock license in the mid-2000’s as a development driver for the championship-caliber team.

The Tucker’s have gone all-in with their racing endeavor in the United States, setting up their racing headquarters in North Carolina and rolling out an in-house engine program, headed up by Rob Tucker. The team tentatively plans to compete at Pomona, Phoenix, Gainesville, Bristol, Epping, Chicago, Norwalk, Indianapolis, Charlotte, and Dallas.
