Big 3 Racing experienced a horrific shop fire that destroyed their building and numerous customer cars, including a Ford Muscle project car. The team at Big 3 Racing wasn’t going to let this tragic event stop them, so they put a plan together to open a new shop at Dragway 42.
To celebrate their re-opening, Big 3 Racing is putting on “The Resurrection”. This event will feature a $7,000-to-win True Street class, along with clocks-off small tire and stick shift classes. If that wasn’t enough, the shop will have some big horsepower cars making pulls on a Mainline dyno, a car show, and an area featuring different vendors.
The big draw for The Resurrection will be the True Street class. Racers will be required to complete a 50-mile drag-and-drive style cruise with checkpoints. The cruise must be completed within two hours, and the racers will report directly to the staging lanes when they return with their photo proof of visiting each checkpoint. The winner will get a nice $7,000 payday, the runner-up will get $2,000, and racers who make it to the semi-finals will get $500.
“We used to have a dyno day and car show at our old location, but being at Dragway 42 opened up new opportunities. Our customers are amazing and we wanted to put on an event for them that matched their energy. So, being able to do something for them, show off the new shop, and put on a race for our drag-and-and drive community is huge,” says Big 3 Racing’s Chuck Stefanski.
If you’ve got a fast street car and want to win some money, you’d better plan on being at Dragway 42 on May 10th. You can get all the details about The Resurrection right here on the event’s Facebook page.
