No Prep racing is stocked with some of the most colorful personalities in all of drag racing, and they all want to win. That kind of environment breeds smack talk and rivalries that fans love and that makes this fairly new form of racing so entertaining. The Dirty South No Prep Racing Series is bringing the titans of the Big Tire class together in one place, and the rivalries are set to grow to new heights this season.
It was only a matter of time after Mike Murillo and Scott Taylor introduced the Dirty South series that racers would start pushing each other to see who really is the fastest. Now, the series is drawing the best in the Big Tire No Prep ranks that want to show they have what it takes to win the points championship. “This season is going to be crazy with The 55, Kye Kelley, John Doe and Birdman all onboard to run every race. You’re talking about four of the toughest No Prep racers in the country that are going to go at it for the entire series — it will be nuts,” Murillo says.
For Murillo, it’s all about seeing these great cars come out and push each other to the edge that makes the racing great. “The 55 is a new car that just started running last year at a lot of the No Prep events. After they got things figured out they won almost every No Prep event they went to. They took out Birdman a few times last year, so you know when those two line up at the Dirty South events it will be intense,” Murillo explains.
The 55 has already started stirring the pot between the Big Tire racers and is trying to get people riled up before the first event even kicks off. It’s that type of action that packs the stands with fans at No Prep events and gets Murillo excited for the first race of the season. “The 55’s team is out of Oklahoma and they’ve said they will be coming to the Dirty South to show everyone how No Prep racing is supposed to be done. This isn’t being taken lightly by Birdman, Kelley, or Scotty Taylor, for sure,” Murillo says.
It now becomes a question of whether anybody will be able to step up to The 55 when the Dirty South No Prep Racing Series kicks off at Hub City. For Murillo, it isn’t an issue because the racing is going to be exciting at every event as these Big Tire racers lock horns. “The fact that we’re going to have these four guys at every race is huge. These are four of the most competitive cars out there and they won’t back down from each other, ever. This first race is going to be where battle lines are drawn and the gauntlet will be thrown down for the season between all of these racers.”
You will be able to see this incredible No Prep racing take place when the Dirty South No Prep Racing Series begins its season at Hub City Dragway March 31-April 1st. If you can’t make it to the event, SpeedVideo.com will be broadcasting it all LIVE right here for every No Prep fan to see.
