A pair of legendary names in the sport of drag racing – Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels and multi-time champion and second-generation racer Bill Glidden – have renewed their long-term partnership, providing support to Bill Glidden Racing in the pursuit of another ADRL Extreme 10.5 championship in 2012.
Glidden, who has worked extensively with Mickey Thompson engineers on their Big Tire Development Program, will continue to provide the product development staff with evaluation results of tire and wheel products in a real-world racing environment through on-track testing and his own racing program on the ADRL tour.
“Bill had another great season in 2011, and we want to continue to support his efforts and help him maintain his momentum,” said Ken Warner, VP Sales and Marketing, Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels. “He is consistently on the list of top performers in the 10.5 class, and a fierce competitor in this drag racing series. We are looking forward to another great year in 2012.”

Mickey Thompson Performance Tires & Wheels established its Big Tire Development Program in 2007 as a collaborative effort that allows for real-world testing and evaluation of their ET Drag tire and wheel line in varying applications and racing environments. Through Glidden’s own efforts and relationship with Pro Nitrous racer Jeff Naiser, Mickey Thompson’s Big Tire program was put to the test with exceptional results in the ADRL’s premier nitrous category last season.
Glidden won the ADRL Extreme 10.5 title in convincing fashion in 2008, and continues to lead as the class’ all-tim wins leader with twelve in seventeen career final rounds.
