Many of the companies we rely on today to make our race cars faster, safer, and more efficient have been around for years. We can think of several right off the top of our head, and they’re well-respected for that longevity in the industry.
One of those companies is Design Engineering, Incorporated (DEI), located in Avon Lake, Ohio. DEI specializes in thermal tuning products for race cars, street/strip cars, cruisers, and everything in between. The company is in its second decade of existence, and recently expanded to increase production, allow for increased stocking of components, and to step-up research and development efforts. The above video highlights the company’s past, present, and future endeavors. DEI not only has performance items for your car, it also carries components aimed at the power sports, marine, and industrial arenas.
For the Dragzine reader, DEI has many items aimed at you. Their line of thermal tuning products include exhaust wraps, heat shields, boot and wire protection, and its Cry02 cryogenic intake system. We see the company’s boot and wire protection products on a regular basis at the track, and its Cry02 system is a C02 system designed to lower the intake air charge temperature by up to 50-degrees. As we all know, inflated intake air temps are the bane of drag racers. We’re always trying to keep them at a manageable level, and the Cry02 system is designed to do just that.
Another of DEI’s products aimed at drag racers is its Ny-Trex brand of nitrous oxide systems and components. This line has both wet and dry kits for a variety of applications, both for EFI and carbureted cars. However, the line includes a full line of nitrous oxide system accessories like solenoids, fittings, plates and nozzles, stainless lines, and of course, nitrous jets.
Besides these components we touch on here, DEI has many other products intended to make your car faster and more reliable at the track.
