Last summer, Englishman Andy Frost made the long-awaited debut of his stunning new Red Victor 3 Vauxhall VX4/90 FD street legal Pro Modified machine – of which the racing world had intently watched being built through a number of media outlets – to considerably positive results. Frost, well known for his entertaining exploits and infectious personality, clicked off a best of 7.50-seconds in his debut before engines woes put a damper on his parade.

The last we saw of Frost and the Red Victor, the state-of-the-art twin-turbocharged machine was cruising through the streets of Wellingborough, England – garnering plenty of attention from passers-by as the bright red racer made its way around as though it were built for the street. Actually, it was.

With winter in the rear view mirror and off season work complete, Frost made his season debut over the weekend at the Santa Pod Raceway in Wellingborough for the Auto Trader Easter Thunderball Motorsports Extravaganza and wasted little time accomplishing one of his goals: becoming England’s first and only six-second street legal vehicle.

Frost, with noted tuner Shane Tecklenburg helping call the shots, reeled off a 6.999 at a booming 218.14 MPH, following a 1.45 short time and a 4.76 at 175.04 to the eighth mile. Frost and Tecklenburg are still creeping up on the performance potential of this unique race car, but considering Frost only went 175 MPH to the finish stripe in his first outing and now has topped that in half the distance, no doubt the combination has already come a long way.

Congratulations are in order to Frost, Tecklenburg, car builder and fabricator Jon Webster, and the entire Red Victor crew on their accomplishment, and no doubt we’ll have more from this team as the season progresses.
