Fuelab racers John Warren and Jenna Pierce Wilson had as great a weekend as one could ask for at the NMCA’s World Finals over the weekend. Warren won the Xtreme Street class with his Nova, and Wilson won the NMCA Open Comp championship after a stellar season in her Camaro.
Wilson’s Camaro features a Lingenfelter-prepped 430-inch LSX combination with C5R heads, Mast intake, an Accufab throttle body, a Holley HP EFI system, and ARH headers. Shawn Finley assembled the potent engine to keep Wilson going fast. Behind the LSX combination is a RPM Transmissions Powerglide and Coan converter.

None of this stuff would get much use if not for Wilson’s use of Fuelab’s 41401 Prodigy fuel pump, a 51501 regulator, and Fuelab’s pre and post fuel filters. With Fuelab’s help, Wilson was the number one qualifier at two races this season, went rounds at every event, and even the final round at Norwalk to win the NMCA’s Open Comp championship.
For his part, Xtreme Street racer John Warren had struggled with his Nova most of the season, and all that hard work paid off at the NMCA Finals.
Warren’s Nova is a 1972 model he’s owned since he was 16. Originally a 307 car, it now has a Knieriem Racing Engines 565-inch, Kevin Neal nitrous combination featuring Lemons headers and Flowmaster Outlaw mufflers. Behind the big-block is an ATF Powerglide maintained by Wayne Bilbrey. Bilbrey is local to Warren, and although the transmission is still filled with ATF parts, Bilbrey checks over everything in-between races, while Warren utilizes a PTC converter to transfer power through a Driveshaft Shop carbon fiber driveshaft. The Nova’s leaf-spring rear suspension is made up of Calvert Racing mono-leafs, TRZ-modified Cal-Trac bars, a TRZ Fab9 rear with Strange axles, and Afco shocks front and rear.
Allowing times deep into the 7s in Xtreme Street trim is Fuelab’s fuel pressure regulator. The company is working on a fuel pump application to support the fuel needs of Warren’s Nova. Warren’s best time at the NMCA Finals was in the final against Aaron Bates when he ran a 7.68 at 177 mph. With his win at Norwalk, Warren went from seventh to fourth in points to finish out the NMCA season.
