While in attendance and providing coverage of the PRI (Performance Racing Industry) show down in Orlando in December, we got an up close and personal look at Oklahoma native and former NHRA Top Sportsman champion Keith Haney’s brand spankin’ new 2012 Chevrolet Camaro out of the Wally Stroupe Race Cars shop, destined for the ADRL Pro Nitrous ranks this season.
As we learned at the time, Haney and his new mount were to be part of a two-car effort in the ADRL this season, as he’d be teaming with John Woods Performance Auto out of Oklahoma City to field another, virtually identical Stroupe-built Camaro with NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster pilot Monroe Guest at the wheel.
The trio of Haney, Woods, And Guest are now set to take their two-car doorslammer operation on the road to contest the entire 10-race ADRL schedule. The Camaro driven by Haney will be entered in the incredibly tough Pro Nitrous division, while Guest will campaign the machine owned by Woods in the Pro Modified category. Haney’s longtime friend, John Collins, will manage the team.
“We’ve put together a great team and have the support of many dedicated people and sponsors,” Haney said. “I’m excited to have my best friend as a teammate and we’re both fortunate to do what we love to do.”
Guest, a former sprint car racer, is a multi-time NHRA national and divisional event winner and won the NHRA Division 4 Top Alcohol Dragster title in 2008.
“We’re glad to go ADRL racing,” Guest said. “It’s a great series and they always put on incredible events. I’m happy to be on the same team as Keith and John and being a part of the ADRL makes it that much better.

“I’m excited to be back in the saddle. Hopefully we can go out, win some races, have some fun and give the fans and our sponsors a great show too.”
Terry Murphy and Justin Shearer, two of the most talented crew chiefs in Pro Mod racing, will serve as the tuners for Haney’s and Guest’s Camaros.
