The team at Arrington Performance in Virginia is well regarded as one of the premier speed merchants in the business for Mopar vehicles, wringing all kinds of power out of the late model Dodge Challengers, Chargers, and other high performance Chrysler vehicles. Recently, the Arrington crew got their hands on a customers’ 2008 Challenger SRT, with a mission to deliver a powerful workhorse capable of hurting some feelings on and off the track.

The Challenger entered the shop with its 6.1L Hemi, fed by a Vortech supercharger, which soon became a forged 392 Hemi with the blower boost cranked up considerably — enough to pump out an impressive 668 rear wheel horsepower.

Arrington Performance utilized upgraded Mahle Motorsports 2618 forged pistons as part of their 6.1L long block upgrade package, with a 4.060 bore and 3.795 stroke, to arrive at the familiar 392 mark. Mahle 4032 forged pistons, designed for 14 lbs. of boost or a street shot of nitrous, are also available as the standard offering. 

Arrington’s Hemi NAG Stage 4 performance built transmission, Competition Single Pump Fuel Hat, an aftermarket ATI Super Damper, and a Vortech Maxflow Race Bypass valve round out the package. The end result is 668 horses, and a matching 668 ft/lbs. of torque, making this baby one potent little Hemi.

The proud owner has already flogged the newly hopped-up Challenger at the strip, and we’re hoping to gather some on-track numbers as a follow-up.
