The new merger of the National Muscle Car Association (NMCA) and the Aerospace Components NHRA Unleashed series for the remainder of the 2011 season carries the benefits of added exposure and the prized Wally trophy to the winners in every category, but for competitors in the showcase Pro Street division, there’s another extra incentive on top of it.
For racers currently competing in the Pro Street division, or for Pro Modified racers who opt to participate in the class at any of the remaining events this season, the new involvement by the NHRA will make those racers eligible to earn valuable towards entry into the Get Screened America Pro Mod Series. Per the NMCA, grade points will be issues to competitors holding a valid NHRA license, NHRA Pro Modified competition number, and active NHRA membership.
Adjustments in the NMCA Pro Street rules for this season have made participation by Pro Modified competitors more viable than ever before, as evidenced by the attendance of ADRL Pro Nitrous regulars Dave Pierce and Dan Stevenson in Joliet last month.
