For the drag racing fans there will be two very unique dragsters on display. The very first ever dragster that was built in the UK will be on display which was originally built by Sydney Allard. Allard of south London made his name for building sports cars powered by American engines. Most used wither Cadillac or Ford based power plants during the 1950’s. The 1960’s craze of drag racing that was happening in the United States carried across the pond to the UK and spread like wild fire. The streamline design of the Allard dragster was fitted with a Chrysler Hemi V8 engine topped of with a GMC supercharger. Originally built in 1960 the Allard dragster has found its place at the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. It is currently undergoing restoration and the chairman of the Allard Chrysler Action Group will be on hand to answer questions and give details of its restoration progress.

Another very unique piece that actually began its life right here in the United States will be on display and making its debut at the Race Retro show. “Go Hard or Go Home is a Fiat Topolino based altered that was originally campaigned in the gasser wars during the late 1970’s. The craze that has found its new home in the UK may be 30 years late will still remain a crowd pleaser. The altered is powered by a 360 cubic inch engine that has been redone by Team Gridlock. Fresh off its winter restoration the Fiat bodied racer will run with the Wild Bunch Nostalgia Drag Racing Club.
