The Radial Outlaws Racing Series (RORS) returned to Alabama International Dragway for its third stop of the 2026 season. The Bama Outlaws event brought out the best radial-tire racers chasing a championship and looking to score the coveted Yeti trophy.
Mother Nature has a love/hate relationship with drag racing. When she’s in a good mood, things go smoothly at the track, but when she’s not, race-day schedules are challenged. The RORS staff, racers, and the team at Alabama International Dragway battled the conditions Mother Nature delivered to complete the event, and even set a few records along the way.
The spotlight was on Radial vs. The World at Bama Outlaws, thanks to Ken Quartuccio Jr. During qualifying, Quartuccio dropped the hammer on the radial-tire record once again in his ProCharged Camaro, lighting the boards with a 3.436. During eliminations, he continued his dominance with a string of 3.40-second runs, including a 3.458 in the semifinal round.

While Quartuccio was laying down big passes, number two qualifier Lyle Barnett was charging through the other side of the ladder in the Tommy Youmans-owned “Elvira” Camaro. In the final round, Barnett came out on top in a pedal fest, defeating Quartuccio to secure the victory.
Pro 275 was an absolute free-for-all at Alabama International Dragway. Isaac Preston, driving Ernie Dampier’s Corvette, claimed the number one qualifying spot over former series champion Mo Hall. When eliminations began, chaos followed. Hall fell to Jared Ring in the second round, and several races were decided by drivers pedaling their cars. In the final round, Preston defeated Nick Lacerenza to pick up the win.
Jamie Hancock, the reigning RORS Limited Drag Radial (LDR) champion, proved why he holds the title at Bama Outlaws. He secured the number one qualifying spot and stacked up win lights to earn a place in the finals. On the other side of the ladder, number three qualifier Brett Lasala worked through the field to reach the final round. In the money round, Lasala cut a .005 light and laid down a class-record 3.762 to defeat Hancock and take the LDR win.

Qualifying position doesn’t always determine race-day results. In X275, the final round featured number five qualifier Davey Hull and number seven qualifier Stephen Barnett. Hull showcased his driving skills with a stellar .002 reaction time and ran a 4.097 to defeat Barnett, who posted a quicker 4.067.
In Ultra Street, two familiar names topped the qualifying sheet and met again in the final round. Ronny Rhodes secured the number one spot, with Jessie Coulter close behind in second. Both seasoned racers advanced through eliminations to meet in the final. Rhodes’ 4.353 was enough to hold off Coulter’s 4.398 for the win.
The number one qualifying spot in X255 was locked down by Bill Kubiac. He continued his strong performance through eliminations, advancing to the final round to face class veteran Robert Strong. In the final, both racers ran identical 4.825 elapsed times, but Strong’s .041 reaction time bested Kubiac’s .081, earning him his first Bama Outlaws win.
The Radial Outlaws Racing Series will make its next stop at US-60 Dragway for the Battle for the Thrones race, May 7–9.
