Building on the momentum from their successful Sick At The Rock event in April, Sick The Magazine is expanding the racing program for its next major gathering. The upcoming Sick On The Green event, scheduled for May 29-31, 2025, at the historic Beech Bend Raceway Park in Kentucky, will feature three exciting new classes catering to specific niches within the drag racing community.Responding directly to racer feedback and aiming to bolster class racing opportunities, Sick The Magazine is adding Lil Gangstas, Stick Shift, and Street Eliminator 10.10 to the lineup. The Lil Gangstas category, currently gaining significant popularity, pits small-tire, street-car-based competitors against each other on a 5.30 index with the scoreboards turned off for an extra challenge. This class will race twice during the weekend, with a 100-percent entry payout on Friday, followed by a big $10,000-to-win shootout on Saturday.
Manual transmission fans get their own playground with the new Stick Shift class, presented in partnership with TREMEC Transmissions. This category welcomes H-pattern-shifted cars battling heads-up on the quarter-mile for a $4,000 total prize purse.
Rounding out the additions is Street Eliminator 10.10. Added due to popular demand, this class offers genuine street cars a chance to compete on a 10.10 index for a share of a $2,500 prize. These new categories join an already diverse roster of classes featured at Sick events, including the record-setting Small Tire Pro Stock, Coyote Stock, Street Race 8.60, Nostalgia Super Stock/Muscle Car presented by Driven Racing Oil, and Open Comp. Alongside the class racing, Sick On The Green also hosts the Sick Street Car Challenge, a demanding two-day drag-and-drive competition boasting over $30,000 in prize money.Sick The Magazine’s Tom Bailey emphasized the expansion reflects a commitment to supporting class racers. “Sick At The Rock showed we were serious, now it’s time for the racers to join the best class racing party there is,” Bailey stated, adding that the additions came after direct requests from competitors. “Following Sick At The Rock we had some racers reach out … and we are happy to accommodate them. We want to make these events as big as possible,” Bailey added.
With discounted pre-entries now open for racers alongside spectator tickets via the Sick The Magazine website, Sick On The Green is shaping up to be a major destination for class racers and fans later this month. The expanded lineup underscores Sick’s dedication to fostering a vibrant future for this style of drag racing.
