When it comes to NMRA racing, a fixture in the series for several years has been Terry Reeves. Known to most as “Beefcake,” Reeves has raced a broad spectrum of classes at the wheel of Ford’s latest performance vehicles. He’s raced Mustangs, Lightning trucks, even a Taurus SHO a few years back.
Since he works at a Ford dealership, his race vehicles are usually brand new models, and the ’15 Mustang GT you see here shows more of the same.
Through his years of experience, social media prowess, and parts sales acumen, Reeves has been able to acquire quite a few sponsors to help with his program, as well. As you can see by this teaser video, Race Star Industries is once again a big supporter for 2015. For the new year, Beefcake is running Race Star series 94 wheels 17×7-inch up front with 17×9.5-inch out back.
Turning the Race Stars will be a stock Coyote engine with MMR billet oil pump gears, a Vortech billet JT-Trim supercharger, ID1300 injectors, a Fore Precision fuel system with Team Beefcake Racing fuel rails, and an Exedy-fortified stock 6R80 transmission. Sense the car still has the stock IRS out back, a pair of Driveshaft Shop half-shafts were added, along with BMR Suspension delrin bushings.
With a Lund Racing tune in the computer, the car made 818-rwhp at 6,900 rpm. The car has a Team Beefcake Racing Torque Booster Wastegate setup with a manual boost controller on the car. Reeves did some testing back home, but that only resulted in getting sideways at 120 mph. He’ll be racing the car in NMRA Renegade this weekend at the MDIR event to get points until his primary car is done. Plus, he has to shake down the car before Brandy Cisco takes the wheel in Super Stang competition.
