Santa Pod Raceway’s annual outlaw drag racing spectacular, THE DOORSLAMMERS Powered by FuelTech, is set to return May 15-17, 2026, bringing some of the quickest and most radical door cars in Europe together for a massive £100,000 prize-paying showdown.
THE DOORSLAMMERS has built a reputation as one of Europe’s premier outlaw drag racing events, attracting racers from across the continent for a no-holds-barred battle where horsepower and creativity rule.
Unlike traditional drag racing championships governed by strict regulations, THE DOORSLAMMERS embraces an outlaw format. Teams are free to push performance limits however they choose, whether that means increasing boost, adding horsepower, or turning up aggressive engine combinations in pursuit of the massive payout.

The event’s unique format adds even more unpredictability. Instead of a standard eliminations ladder based on qualifying position, race pairings are randomly drawn each round, creating instant drama and making every matchup potentially explosive.
The 2026 edition of THE DOORSLAMMERS also marks the debut of FuelTech as the event’s supporting partner.
The Brazilian-American manufacturer of high-performance engine management systems and motorsports electronics continues to expand its footprint in European drag racing. FuelTech already supports the Motorsport UK British Drag Racing Championship, and its involvement with THE DOORSLAMMERS further strengthens that connection.
While massive V8-powered Pro Mods headline the show, THE DOORSLAMMERS highlights the incredible diversity of European drag racing.
The event features seven additional categories:
- Turbosmart Pro Street
- True Street
- Coated Race Bearings Front-Wheel Drive
- Four-Cylinder
- Tom Wrigley Performance Five/Six-Cylinder
- Jeff Bull Race Engines 7.60 Heads-Up
- Williams Bros Big Bracket
Fans will also see Scandinavian Top Doorslammers competing in their signature eighth-mile format, bringing another unique style of racing to Santa Pod. One of the event’s biggest draws is its international field. Racers are expected from across Europe, including competitors from the Nordic countries, the Baltics, Poland, Portugal, and Bulgaria.

That broad mix of competitors highlights a growing trend in European drag racing: high-performance turbocharged and front-wheel-drive innovation coming from Eastern Europe. Many of these racers are eager to leave behind rough airfield-style tracks and compete on Santa Pod Raceway’s world-class concrete racing surface.
Despite the extreme machinery, THE DOORSLAMMERS also maintains strong roots in true street-car racing. The Turbosmart Pro Street and True Street categories require competitors to prove their cars are road legal with valid MOT certification and road tax. Meanwhile, the Jeff Bull Race Engines 7.60 Heads-Up category caters to dedicated track cars racing on a 7.60-second index, while the Williams Bros Big Bracket class allows racers dialing between 6.99 and 11.99 seconds to compete.
The combination of outlaw drag racing, high-dollar competition, and Volkswagen culture is expected to create one of the most exciting weekends on the European drag racing calendar. For racers and fans alike, THE DOORSLAMMERS continues to prove that outlaw drag racing remains one of the most thrilling forms of motorsports anywhere in the world.
