Things are starting to look better for Thunder Valley Raceway Park (TVRP) in Noble, Oklahoma. Back in July, it was confirmed that the track would be closing after the group leasing the track decided to walk away from the facility. Now, it appears that there is a new group of people opening the track back up, and they’re ready to bring the thunder of race engines back to Thunder Valley.
TVRP has been a staple in the regional drag racing scene for decades. When it was announced that the track was closing its doors, many went to social media to share their stories about racing at the track with friends and family. Even cast members from the Street Outlaws franchise shared their thoughts and sadness about the track closing.
Well, now there’s a new twist in the saga of TVRP, and it features a resurgence. It has been announced that new owners are taking on the track and bringing in new management, plus they’re bringing back some of the original staff.
Marc Sorenson, one of the promoters of Outlaw Armageddon, is leading the charge to help bring the facility back to life. He’s organizing a group of volunteers to help get the track ready on August 24th. The plan is to get TVRP back in fighting shape so it can host a classic Pour Your Own Puddle top-end event on August 30th.
We will continue to follow the situation at Thunder Valley Raceway Park and provide more information when it becomes available.
