If you’re looking to go True 10.5 racing, the United States government may have exactly what you’re looking for.  “Say what?” you ask.  This killer looking and purportedly killer-running Mustang is currently in the possession of the U.S. Marshals Service and will be going up for auction at the Manheim Metro Atlanta Auto Auction next week.  Last we checked, the DEA isn’t in the business of drag racing and people typically aren’t lining up to donate their race cars to the government either.  How and why this got into their hands probably has a less an honorable story behind it.

Very little details on this car are known and those who are in-the-know seem to be pretty tight lipped on it, and for good reason.  This was a grudge car down south, where elapsed times, horsepower numbers, and legitimate specifications are kept under a veil of secrecy so that your competitors – and others with money at stake – don’t know what you’ve got or are capable of.

It is said to have a 700+ inch Gene Fulton motor on the spray, backed by a Powerglide.  Nobody is mentioning numbers, but this car took on all-takers on 29-inch slick tires and some have gone as far as saying it could’ve taken the big check at the Radial vs. The World in Georgia.  That doesn’t exactly tell us how quick it is, but ballpark figures for sure.  It  doesn’t have a certified chassis underneath it, thus some additional costs to have it updated with a funny car cage and the works may be in order for the lucky bidder.  The car will be sold as-is and you must be in person to bid on the car.
