NHRA officials today release the 2020 schedule for the Pro Stock category of the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series, which will once again feature competition at 18 of the 24 contested national events. Most notably, the 2020 season will mark the 50th anniversary of the tradition-rich, history-laden factory hot rod eliminator, with a host of special celebrations taking place throughout the campaign.

Pro Stock will return to several venues that it did not compete at in 2019 — its first season racing on a limited schedule — including Houston, Atlanta Topeka, Bristol, and Epping, New Hampshire. In a departure from years prior (including 2019), Pro Stock will have just a five-race Countdown to the Championship schedule rather than all six (Pro Stock will not compete at St. Louis).

In picking up the aforementioned races, Pro Stock will not return to Richmond, Chicago, Denver, or Brainerd, as it did in 2019. The Four-Wide Nationals in Charlotte will remain off the schedule, as well.
