Heads-up racing provides some of the most exciting drag racing action anywhere, as documented in this awesome video from Kevin Maurer at NitroArtVideo. This clip is a preview of their full-length 2-hour DVD that covers 27 different events held at 14 tracks across six states, and is a heck of an entertaining watch.
There’s plenty of footage from Donald Long’s Duck X Productions two events held at South Georgia Motorsports Park, where some of the most insane footage originates from. There’s also firsthand coverage of Jere Etheridge’s wild ride that took the interwebs by storm earlier this year, resulting in some of the most amazing footage ever shot on a dragstrip.
You’ll get to see Slammin’ Sammy Vincent’s wild nitrous-injected machine blast off to a one-wheel landing. It’s a source of amazement to think about how Sammy managed to keep the car from rolling onto its lid, let alone off the wall and relatively undamaged.
Not to be outdone by Etheridge, Brad Edwards goes for a wild ride of his own, almost duplicating Etheridge’s experience from a few months prior.
From crashes to wheelstands to explosions, some of the most anticipated events of the 2013 season are in this video – if you sat at home this year, when you’re done watching you’ll wonder why. If you’re a fan of grudge racing, there’s plenty of that covered in the video as well – with an insane engine explosion that sends a hood scoop fifty feet straight up and resulting fire that sends the fans on the side of the track scurrying for safety.
Backwards slides into the wall, wheels that decide they’re better served by separating from the rearend, it’s all here. You gotta check it out!
