Street Outlaws star Jeff “AZN” Bonnett is has made himself a fixture in racing, riding shotgun in the world-famous Farmtruck and wheeling the equally-familiar Dung Beatle around taking unsuspecting street racers money. And now, he now has a new ride to cruise the streets of the 405 in. His 2008 SRT8 Jeep Grand Cherokee might look like your typical grocery-getter, but this Mopar is packing some punch.
Like all daily drivers, the intention was never to actually modify the Jeep, but that changed quickly for AZN. While at PRI, he met the gang from Modern Muscle and they helped him realize that the all-wheel-drive platform mixed with a big Hemi is the recipe for a lot of horsepower-filled fun. They also offer an engine that is, fittingly, 405 cubic-inches, so AZN couldn’t say no to their proposal.
The Modern Muscle Hemi that resides in the Jeep has been punched-out from the stock 376 cubic-inches and filled with goodies from Mahle, received a set of Edelbrock heads, and a D1-X ProCharger for good measure. Behind the engine taking all the abuse is a Paramount Performance Products Stage 5 transmission and axles from the Driveshaft Shop. All of this is needed to help rocket the 5,500 pound SUV down the track, or street at a high rate of speed.
In this video from BigKleib34, you’ll hear AZN talk about virtually everything on the Jeep … except exactly how much power it’s putting down. From the sound of things, he doesn’t want to deal with any call-outs just yet, and the Jeep might play a role in the upcoming season of the show.
