Just when you think you have seen it all at the drag strip, somebody has to raise the unique bar to a new level. We have covered V8 swapped Smart cars, diesel powered dragsters, and totally radical golf carts, but we have found something new – a drag tractor. This piece of farm equipment looks like it could plow the back 40 and lay down a low 60 foot without even breaking a sweat.
Usually high performance tractors are rocking a gaggle of blown HEMI engines or a giant turbine engine and pulling a weight sled as close to 300 feet as possible. There have been a few brave (or crazy) souls that have taken a basic home lawn tractor and converted it over for drag racing duty. The drag racing lawn tractors have been seen with wheelie bars to keep the nose down, and even some have been V8 swapped to dial up the insanity.
The tractor in this video has everything that could classify it as a Pro Mod – and then some. The driver is encased in a pretty impressive roll bar that is far from the stock one that comes on the tractor. A pair of smaller street tires have been added up front to help make the beast tractor stable at higher speeds. The driver cranks the tractor up in the water box, rolls some coal, and chirps the tires. After getting in the groove, the driver spools up his ride, dumps the clutch and pulls a pretty nice wheelie. No ET or speed information is available but we’re willing to bet this red monster could set the record for tractors going down the drag strip.
