Special thanks to our event coverage sponsor Mickey Thompson Tires for allowing us to bring you latest race updates on site from around the country.

We had a brief rain this morning, the track crew is drying and preping the track for Q3 starting with Xtreme Pro Stock. The forecast looks great for the rest of the day.

Saturday Morning Update

John Vergotz had a nasty nitrous explosion around the 330 yesterday due to pedeling the car and trying to get back in it. The team got a new hood scoop and are hoping their 860 ci buck and APD engine will do the trick to qualify in this 3rd session coming up.

Ohio man Brian Gahm seemed to be making some changes in the center section of his pro stock beast. Gahm is running a Jerry Haas Mustang with a massive 820 ci engine and is currently number 2 in XPS.

Jason Scruggs team is waiting to see what the weather has to offer before they make any changes to the car but only plan to make simple changes to the 526 ci BAE engine and the Garret 1968 Camaro. Scruggs team was doing some morning check ups when I passed by as well.

Currently sitting 9th in XPS Doug Kirk is looking to make some adjusments to the gear box, the team is waiting to see what the weather does but is going to make some ratio adjustments and try to make it into the top half of the field.

Friday Morning In the Pits

After missing last race Spiro Pappas is back and ready to show the rest of XTF he is still going for the championship.

Chicago racer Mike Recchia is here at ADRL for his second time ever and is looking to improve from his last years DNQ. The team has been testing and has been a best of 3.95 at 183mph. The 1968 camaro was built by Jerry Bickel racecars and uses a AJ 481x built by Fowler racing engines to supply the power.

Canfield, Ohio based John Decerbo is here today for his secound outing with the new Tim Mcamis built 1968 Camaro. In only his second pass John managed a 3.99, the team has done no recent testing and is looking to put the car in the low 3.9x second range.

Cathy Belcher, the ADRL's fastest female is on the grounds today looking to break into the 3 second range. With a best of 4.03 at 187 Belcher's 526 ci 1990 Camaro should have no problem getting the job done. The car was built by G force race cars with updates done by Chris Duncan, the 526 AJ was build and assembeld at A Team speed shop.

Track officals are starting to dry the track after some very heavy rain. The drivers meeting has been delayed as well as qualifying.

The legendary 55 chevy of Charles Carpenter is looking great with its new paint. The team has been traveling around all over the place to get the paint and body work done in the past few weeks. With a disappointing first round loss at the Virginia race due to an electrical error, Carpenter looks to better his performance. Currently #2 in points the North Carolina team is looking to run the number with their 843 ci Fulton powered engine.

The father and son team of Cary and Dean Goforth traveled here with their Extreme Pro Stock cars from Oklahoma. The team has not been out testing since the last race but have been doing well all year, currently #1 and 4 in points the team is feeling strong going into qualifying. While Dean is the current record holder with a 4.05, son Cary went a 4.04 at the last race but did not have the chance to back it up. Both cars are running Sonny's 824 ci engines and Jerry Haas race cars.

More in the Pits

The officals are drying the track and we are about to be underway with lots of racing, the drivers meeting is about over and the cars should be lining up soon.

Chuck Ulsch number 4 in points in XTF has been doing a little testing after last race and manged to find a 3.91 at 200mph! The BAE 526 and PSI Screw Blower have proven to be a winning combination for this team and they are going for the win this weekend.

Young driver Jason Hamstra is piloting the Garret built 1968 Camaro powered by a BAE 526 with a screw. The car went 3.70 at the last race and they plan to improve this weekend.
