Hydraulic roller lifters are very common amongst high performance street and racing engines for their ability to mesh well with the steep profiles of performance aftermarket camshafts. Most roller lifters utilize a wheel housing with a traditional needle-roller bearings, but Richard Iskenderian of the legendary Isky Racing Cams has developed an all-new roller lifter bearing that revolutionizes the standard design. Isky had previously released the EZ-Roll and EZ-Roll X bearings, and have added a third grade to the lineup with the EZ-Roll MAX, showcased here at PRI.
The EZ-Roll bearings are designed exclusively for Isky’s Red-Zone roller lifters and solve the issue of needle bearing overload found in traditional roller lifter bearings. For extreme drag racing and high performance engines, these bearings handle a much greater load and their needle-free design and larger surface area create a footprint with a 350% higher load rating. These bearings, once the clearance opens up, doesn’t send trash through the engine like that of needle bearings lifters either.
The newest EZ-Roll MAX is engineered with the most extreme of loading environment in mind, such as high boost turbocharged and high horsepower nitrous and blown combinations on gas or alcohol. These are recommended for any .842, .904, or .937 diameter lifters installed with over 400 lbs. seat and 1,100 to 1,400 lbs. valve open spring force.
