When it comes to announcing a brand new marketing partnership, there’s no better way to cloak the deal in secrecy than to simply show up at the race track and roll the car out of the hauler with their logo emblazoned on the doors. Such was the case for ADRL Pro Extreme standout Alex Hossler, as his previously unpainted 1970-1/2 Camaro arrived at round three of the Arabian Drag Racing League series in Qatar with the familiar Al-Anabi signage on the side of his car. With that, it would seem as though Hossler joins the already sizable and talented Al-Anabi squad of drivers in both America and Qatar.
The ADRL’s Agent 660 is reporting that along with inclusion to the team, Hossler may also be teaming up with Pro Extreme newcomer and former Top Fuel pilot J.R. Todd for a two-car effort with the ADRL here on American soil. Todd recently made his debut behind the wheel of a doorslammer and came out guns blazing, earning his first win in the tough supercharged category in just his second event at Round Two of the Arabian series behind the wheel of his Al-Anabi ’57 Chevrolet. It’s already been all but confirmed that Todd will be competing in all nine events on the 2011 schedule in Pro Extreme.
Agent 660 is also reporting word that renowned former nitro tuner Rob Flynn would turn the screws on both cars, creating one heck of a formidable team. Flynn joined the Hossler team in the early part of the 2010 season after working most recently with Brandon Bernstein’s NHRA Top Fuel team. In addition to Todd, Hossler joins forces with Todd Tutterow and Matt Smith on the Pro Extreme portion of the team.
