Emmy Award-winning television producer Steve Reintjes has been named Coordinating Producer for all NHRA television productions and video content. Reintjes will be the producer of all NHRA television programs on FOX, and for producing and overseeing all NHRA video content that is created at the NHRA Wally Parks Studio, displayed at NHRA events and utilized online.
Reintjes will hit the ground running, with extensive motorsports experience including experience producing NHRA race shows in 2015. Reintjes joins NHRA from ESPN, and brings over 17 years of experience in network television production, having produced over 500 live events for 11 different sports including production responsibilities on multiple Indy 500 broadcasts. His in-depth knowledge of NHRA championship drag racing extends to his youth when he would attend events at Pomona with his family.
“I’m truly honored to join the NHRA Family,” said Reintjes. “This is an exciting opportunity to work for an organization that has not only been the fabric of the American automotive culture since the ‘50s, but also positively impacted my childhood as I attended many NHRA events growing up in southern California. NHRA leadership and its dedicated in-house production team has worked tirelessly over the last two years to elevate how this incredible ‘sensory’ sport translates to our passionate audience. Our goal in 2018 is to build upon this success by continuing to integrate cutting edge technology, aggressively documenting the natural intensity of NHRA drag racing and showcasing the most diverse and accessible athletes in sports.”
Reintjes will be taking on the role immediately and will be based in Glendora on a full-time basis reporting to Executive Producer & Chief Content Officer, Ken Adelson. He holds a degree in telecommunications from Baylor University.
“We’re excited to welcome Steve to NHRA,” said Adelson. “He brings extensive production experience and knowledge of the sport to our NHRA / Fox telecasts and multimedia productions. In addition to producing our multiple television shows, Steve has the expertise to produce and integrate video content between TV and NHRA’s other distribution platforms. Combining these skills with his desire to drive the continued growth and success of NHRA, showcasing the amazing competitors and unique on-site experience of the world’s fastest motorsport will make him a valuable member of the NHRA team.”
