We all know Hennessey builds some badass cars. Alas, most of us will never have the privilege to own one, never mind drive one. The closest we’ll get are images and videos via the internet. For anyone who has been waiting to hear what Hennessey’s latest monster, the LS9 powered HPE700 sounds like, here is that video.
The video comes to us courtesy of Camaro5, and shows the Hennessey HPE700 making laps at the track. Make sure you crank up the volume for this one.
Hennessey wasn’t satisified with just cramming the Corvette ZR-1’s 638 horsepower LS-9 engine into a Camaro though. They tweaked and tuned it, and when Inside Line put the HPE700 on the dyno (filled with wretched 91 octane) the HPE700 made 691 horsepower and 661 ft-lbs of torque. An absolute beast, and that is with the stock 2010 Camaro cat-back exhaust system still fitted.
Aside from the engine, the HPE700 gets a whole slew of other upgrades, such as the ZR-1’s carbon ceramic brakes and a complimentary set of upgraded suspension bits. A full carbon fiber body kit is also added, as are custom wheels and the same kind of see-through hood found on the ZR-1. The $109,000 asking price also comes with a 1-day driving course, which, judging from the video, you’ll need to keep this bad boy under control.
