The dance card for the Horsepower Wars $10K Drag Shootout 4 , presented by Summit Racing, is almost full.

Big 3 Racing, Team Next, and Team Bucketlist Mob have already secured their spots in this season’s competition, but there’s still one final position left to fill. That’s where you, the fans of the $10K Drag Shootout, come in.

It will be up to you to decide which team earns the fourth and final spot in this year’s competition.

A Unique Drag Racing Build Challenge

The Horsepower Wars $10K Drag Shootout, presented by Summit Racing, challenges teams to do something many racers would consider impossible: build a competitive drag racing vehicle in just six days.

Team APB Racing

As if the deadline wasn’t difficult enough, each team must work within a strict budget. Competitors receive a $7,000 Summit Racing gift card for parts and can contribute only $3,000 of their own money toward the build to go from roller to race car.

That means teams must balance speed, reliability, and creativity while staying within a total budget of just $10,000.

Team Intentional Disaster

New Rules For This Season

To make this year’s competition even more challenging, all teams will be limited to a single power-adder: nitrous oxide (courtesy of the folks at NOS).

Teams will also be required to run either a Holley EFI system or an Edelbrock carburetor as the induction system for their engine package. The fueling and choice of powerplant will be decided for them in a random draw, as each team will also receive a Summit Racing SPC engine block (Small-Block Chevy, Big-Block Chevy, Small-Block Ford, or LS).

Teams will need to be flexible, think on their feet, and make smart decisions while maximizing performance on a limited budget.

The Fan Vote Decides The Final Team

The three teams competing for the final spot in the Horsepower Wars $10K Drag Shootout are:

  • Team Food Stamp Fast: Virgil Clontz (team leader), Devin Grace, Ian Kavanaugh, Stan “THE MAN” Allen in a 1978 Ford Fairmont wagon. This rowdy team has plenty of experience building fast cars and getting them down some of the trickiest surfaces you’ve ever seen. It doesn’t matter what type of platform or power-adder they’re working with, Team Food Stamp Fast knows how to make it work.
  • Team APB Racing: Clint Nichols (team leader), Bailey McNichols, Chris Edwards, and Addison Walker in a 1984 Ford Mustang GT. If it’s got an engine, Team APB Racing will find a way to make it go fast. The members of Team APB Racing have plenty of experience with nitrous and building wild no prep cars.
  • Team Intentional Disaster: Nicholas Diehl (team leader), David Diehl, Jeff Slayton, and Harley Town in a 1994 Ford Mustang. Team Intentional Disaster has a drag-and-drive pedigree that’s backed by a trophy case full of hardware. These racers know how to build just about anything and have the ability to make it go really fast.

All three teams bring a wide range of skills, experience, and creativity to the table. Each has the potential to challenge Big 3 Racing, Team Next, and Team Bucketlist Mob for the Horsepower Wars $10K Drag Shootout championship.
