Some of the baddest hombres in the drag racing world utilize Neal Chance Racing Converters, as evidenced by the company’s customers laying claim to multiple wins and broken records over the past few weeks. As NCRC likes to say, “If you don’t have a Chance, you don’t have a chance!”, and as you are about to see, the competition truly didn’t have a chance.

DSC_4680000Wrapping up the NMCA season, Neal Chance Racing Converters found themselves snugly nestled between the crankshaft and transmission of two world champions and three World Street Finals race winners. In the naturally-aspirated N/A 10.5 class, Mike DeMayo took home the win and clicked off low elapsed time for the class with a 7.90 in the finals, beating out Leonard Long. The win also netted DeMayo a second place finish in the championship points race.

Also taking the class win at the World Finals, NCRC customer Eric Gustafson locked up the season points championship in Street Outlaw with solid 4.50 (1/8-mile) in the finals, relegating Jarod Wenrick to the runner-up role. Also taking home an event win and season championship, Nitrous Pro Street gunner Joe Bucaro unleashed not one, but a pair of 7.29’s to set low elapsed time of the race in qualifying, the firing off a second twenty-nine to take out Don Baskin in the final round.

2015-08-31_19-09-30At the SCSN’s Anarchy at the Arch at Gateway Motorsports Park, Frankie Taylor plowed through the Outlaw Pro Mod field, meeting up with fellow NCRC customer and low qualifier Randell Reid in the finals. Reid lost traction early, though he would have needed all he had, as Taylor laid down a solid 3.58 to take the win. Throughout the SCSN weekend, Australian pilot Paul Mouhayet was making 1/4-mile passes in the Moits Racing Mustang trying to reset the world record for any and all doorslammers, and by weekend’s end, he’d done it–at least in the top-speed category.

Mouhayet eclipsed the mind-numbing 273 mph top speed he laid down at last year’s SCSN event in Las Vegas when his gorgeous black Mustang seared the top end to the tune of 274.33 mph!

At the Yellow Bullet Nationals just last weekend, NCRC customer Chuck Ulsch blitzed the Outlaw 10.5 field, taking low qualifier honors, winning the race and taking home the Best Appearing Car award for his sleek black C7 Corvette. Ulsch faced off with fellow longtime 10.5 powerhouse Mo Hall in the finals, but Hall redlighted away any chance of ruining Ulsch and the Gil Mobley Motorsports team’s weekend.

Jerry Morgano also utilized his NCRC converter to lay down a new personal best of 4.13 in his 10.5 tire machine. Chance customers also showed out in Outlaw Drag Radial, where Rick Thornton brought home runner-up honors and posted a low elapsed time of 4.05 on the weekend.

In X275 competition, east coast badass Rich Bruder took the top spot in qualifying with a 4.47, while fellow Chance client “Mean” Dean Marinis powered to the top speed of the event for X275 at 165 mph–virtually unheard of for a nitrous car. In Ultra Street, Alex Hayes took yet another No. 1 qualifying honor for the Chance Converters contingent, ripping off a 4.91 from his all-motor Fox Body Mustang.

IMG_0482Midwest 8.5 Racers Association gunslinger Jason Collins has already wrapped up the 2015 MW8.5RA season points championship despite having a race remaining on the calendar. Collins has amassed such a huge points lead that even if he doesn’t show up, the No. 2 racer can’t catch him. Collins also took the 8.5 tire win at the SCSN St. Louis, where he used a quicker light and a stout 4.93 to outrun Krusty Ramsey’s quicker 4.91 by virtue of the venerable holeshot.

DSC_4235Also taking home wins for the Neal Chance camp, David “Little Evil” Pearson took his fourth win in a row at Shadyside Dragway in their Pro Radial 275 class. If you’ll recall, Pearson still stands as the quickest 275-tire car in the world with an unheard-of 4.11 under his belt. At Piedmont Dragway, PDRA Pro Nitrous standout Jay Cox took the win at the Big Dog Shootout with a stout 3.77 to take the win over NCRC customer Jason Harris. That’s back-to-back wins for Cox in the Big Dog Shootout series!
