The wheels you put on your race car can dictate its look as well as its performance. Being able to go to a lighter drag pack style wheel package can save weight, and allow you to run a sticky tire. Weld Racing now offers 17-inch wheels that will clear the big brakes of modern muscle cars, and a spindle mount wheel for doorcars to give more options for a great wheel package.
Getting a purpose built drag racing wheel to fit on a modern musclecar can be difficult due to the larger brakes these cars have, but Weld has a solution. Phillip Vanbuskirk from Weld Racing give some details on their new wheel offerings. “The 17-inch beadlock wheel we designed for late model cars that have bigger brakes from the factory. These are solution for those with Camaros, Mustangs, and Hellcats that wanted a wheel they could bolt right on and go drag racing without worrying about tire slip.”
Having the ability to go to a larger wheel for racing has its advantages and can improve the look of the car. Weld Racing now offers a 17×3.5 spindle mount wheel for doorcars. “This wheel is made for any small-tire drag car all the way up to a Pro Stock car. The wheel is 15.2 SFI legal and has been tested to those standards. You can get it in V-Series, AlumaStar , the Full Throttle, or the Magnum styles with a choice in polished or blackened machine finish,” Vanbuskirk says.
Make sure you check out Weld’s website for all the details on these new wheel offerings.
