Mickey Thompson Monday Morning Race Report
NHRA: Event recap here on DRAGZINE. Cory McClenathan grabbed the Top Fuel Wally at the NHRA Northwest Nationals at Pacific Raceway in Seattle, WA – defeating Antron Brown in the final round. Tim Wilkerson continued his hot summertime run in Funny Car, and Greg Anderson claimed his second straight victory in Pro Stock, defeating Johnny Gray. Ultimate Outlaws: Full event coverage here on DRAGZINE. For the second year in a row the Pritchett Brothers brought their Ultimate Outlaw series to Milan Dragway in Michigan. Along with the regular slate of classes, the LSX Motor City Rumble was also contested. In an all-nitrous Outlaw 10.5 finale, Scotty Guadagno downed Billy Glidden – who pulled the old black Fox out of the mothballs – with a 4.87 to Glidden’s tire-spinning effort. Dave Hinzman grabbed the win in Outlaw Drag Radial, defeating an up-in-smoke Jim Plimpton with a great 4.76. And NMRA Drag Radial champ Jason Lee won the Extreme 275 class after opponent Ben Mens went red.
NHRA Division 3: Brian Browell won Competition Eliminator at the fourth stop of the North Central Division schedule at the Mid-Michigan Motorplex, defeating Steve Ambrose with a -0.53 under 7.25 in the final. Former Pro Stock star Dave Connolly won Top Dragster over Mark Harmon on a breakout, and Glenn Butcher defeated Gary Wojnowski Jr. for the Top Sportsman crown.
