The crew at AMS Performance cranks out some of the most impressive and beautiful cars on the planet, from Audi’s, to Mercedes, Porsche’s, and everything in between. Making gobs of power out of small displacement engines is their specialty and one of their biggest stars is the Alpha Omega GTR. If you are looking for the gnarliest GTR on earth look no further than the Alpha Omega — this car owns every GTR-based record and just reset the quarter-mile record at both ends.
The brutal power of the Alpha Omega comes from the custom Alpha four-liter billet block that’s topped off with a pair of Alpha CNC Heads, carbon fiber intake manifold, and big bore throttle bodies. Feeding the billet beast is a custom Alpha fuel system with six ID2000 fuel injectors. The custom Alpha Omega turbo kit feeds the boosted air through the motor and to the upgraded Shepherd transmission.
The Alpha Omega is still all wheel drive like all its other GTR brothers, but uses a Syvecs AWD Controller to run in two wheel drive during burnouts. In this amazing video from That Racing Channel you can see the Alpha Omega chip away at the record on each pass. Starting out with a stout 7.63 pass that would make most racers jump for joy, the car just kept getting quicker as the wick got turned up more. On the final pass with all the stops pulled out, the GTR cut a 1.28 sixty-foot and went 4.93 to the eighth-mile, and finished with a 7.48 at 192. Look for AMS Performance to better this time as they sort out their billet block combo and continue to dominate the GTR game.
