Chris Evans' Mustang as it appeared on just about every pass last season while running Outlaw Drag Radial.
Chris Evans along with his partner last season may have had one of the best seasons that they could have had. While they were campaigning a big block with a huge F3 Procharger hanging out front, they were a force to be reckoned with where ever they went. The whole package was a learning process for Evans and Matt Butrim with plans to put that power plant in Butrim’s new ride that is scheduled to come out this season. Some may say why would you take a dominate combination out of Evan’s hatchback Mustang. Well Chris may have answered that question really quick while going back to his roots on the 275 drag radial tire.

Chris Evans headed out to Maryland International Raceway for the first time this season with hopes of getting a handle on his Mustang that now has a small block Ford with a F1R Procharger out in front. As many know it is not easy to get a handle on a setup without making test hits to get a good baseline. With the knowledge that Chris gained last season with running the big block Procharged combination he has taken that and calculated it into a familiar setup with the small block.
Evans wasted no time as he is headed to the front of the pack on 275’s in the northeast this season. With the track preparation solid as it always is at MIR, Chris was able to lay down an impressive pass. The pass came just before 3:00pm on Sunday. Evans blistered the sixty foot clocks in 1.20 seconds which would turn into a 5.03@142mph in the eighth mile. This puts him up there with some illustrious company and the fastest in the country on 275’s. A hand full of racers have been in the four second zone and with this being Chris’ first time out this season it will be only a matter time before he hits the 4’s himself.
