Daniel Pachar Dominates No Prep Small Tire With Vortech Power

Going no-prep racing and running fast on a set of big slicks is pretty difficult, but doing it on a small tire is downright challenging. The power management side of tuning takes even more skill since there’s not a whole lot of rubber making contact with the track. Daniel Pachar has become one of the most formidable small tire no-prep racers, and he does it with boosted power from Vortech.

To become dominant in any area of drag racing you need to start with a solid car and racing program. Pachar pilots a Racetech Motorsports-sponsored 1991 Mustang that was originally built by DMC Racing for NMRA/NMCA Street Outlaw use and has been updated by Wizzard’s Racecars. Powering the Mustang is an NRC-built LS engine that features a billet block, All-Pro cylinder heads, Callies crankshaft, Thomsen Motorsports intake, and Atomizer injectors.

Providing the boost is a Vortech V30 123mm blower that’s bolted to the NRC engine with a Chris Alston’s Chassisworks gear drive unit. All of the charge piping was fabricated at Triangle Speed Shop. Taking all of the boosted horsepower and sending it back to the rear tires is a Proformance Racing Transmission-built TH400 and Neal Chance Racing Converters torque converter. Daniel’s brother Craig handles all of the crew chief and tuning duties for the Mustang while Pedro Garza helps out as a crew member.

Just how dominant has Pachar been in the small tire no-prep racing world? Over the last two seasons, he’s owned the Dirty South No-Prep series small tire class, been runner-up at Bounty Hunters, won multiple No Prep Kings small tire races, and was crowned champion at Outlaw Armageddon.

Pachar gives credit to his small tire winning ways to the power his Vortech blower provides. He knows each time he pulls his Mustang into the beams there’s plenty of reliable horsepower on tap.

“The Vortech team has been unbelievable in helping our team reach our power and performance goals. Lance Keck and Jimmy Martz have made sure that we’re always up to date with the latest technology. They make sure we carry a spare head unit with us at all times. We’ve never pulled it out of the trailer, and that’s a testament to the quality of the product they produce,” Pachar says.

Parchar’s goal for the rest of 2019 and going into 2020 is to continue his high level of success within the no-prep small tire class. He plans on traveling to as many big events as he can to keep collecting winner’s circle photos and learning how to push his Mustang even harder.
