Fan favorite Funny Car driver Alexis DeJoria will have a fresh new look on her Tequila Patron-sponsored Toyota Camry Funny Car when the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series season kicks off in less than two weeks in Pomona, California. DeJoria, the daughter of Patron CEO John Paul DeJoria, will promote the brand’s new “XO Cafe” line of spirits, which is a unique Coffee Liquer that combines Patron Silver Tequila with coffee — a mixture that’s sure to pique the interest of all the coffee junkies out there.

In a departure from DeJoria’s fuel Funny Cars and Top Alcohol Funny Cars that have carried the standard Patron color palette of green, silver, and black, the new scheme is accented with purple (or is it plum?) and gold.

DeJoria, who races under the Kalitta Motorsports banner, had the finest year of her professional driving career in 2013, racing to the semifinals on four occasions, and advancing out of the first round at 17 of the 24 events, despite qualifying in the bottom half of the field at the very same number of races. She narrowly missed reaching her first career final round at Sonoma during the Western Swing, dropping a close semifinal round matchup to John Force by a 4.08 to 4.09 count. With an 11-24 round record, the sophomore Funny Car racer finished two spots outside the Countdown, in 12th place, but with experience under her belt, is poised to join Kalitta Motorports teammate Del Worsham in the exclusive top-10 club this season with the Cafe XO flopper.
