There’s an old saying that goes something like: “if you fall off a horse, you need to get right back on,” but what if you fall off the horse going over 133 MPH? Well, UK motorcycle racer Alan Morrison, Jr. was put in that very situation during an event at Santa Pod Raceway, and he jumped right back on his mechanical steed.
Street bike drag racing has a massive following and these motorcycles are capable of laying down some mind-blowing numbers. It’s not uncommon to see a Pro Street bike in the United States run in the 6-second zone at over 230 MPH. The men and women who ride these bikes are a fearless breed that make these impressive passes seem easy.
Morrison was riding his 1300CC Suzuki Hayabusa in the Super Street bike class when he went for his wild ride during a round of qualifying. In this video from SantaPodTV, you can see Morrison was trying to wrestle his Hayabusa back into the groove, but the bike just wasn’t having any of it. The Suzuki made contact with the wall, Morrison was thrown from the bike, and then he slid across the stripe at over 133 MPH.
After sliding to a stop, Morrison can be seen standing up on his own and jumping over the wall like nothing ever happened. A scary ride like that might cause most normal people to think twice about getting back on a bike, but that wasn’t even on Morrison’s radar. In the very next round of qualifying, Morrison made his way back to the starting line and lit the boards with a 7.20 at 196 MPH run. Needless to say, that takes some serious guts to make a run like that after dumping the bike on the previous pass!
