NHRA Pro Stock has long been the top of the mountain for doorslammer drivers over the past 46 seasons since it’s debut in 1970. Many drivers enter the Pro Modified ranks in hopes to one day reach Pro Stock, and compete against NHRA’s best in the gear-jamming, naturally aspirated category. For the New Jersey engine builder Alan Prusiensky, after a successful 2015 rookie campaign he will be debuting his brand new Jerry Haas built Dodge Dart this weekend at the 19th Annual K&N Filters Route 66 Nationals at Route 66 Raceway in Joliet, Illinois.
Prusiensky blasted onto the scene after purchasing the Dodge Avenger previously piloted by Matt Hartford, and qualified for his first NHRA Pro Stock event during the Gatornationals in 2015. Alan fought through the tough class to reach the quarter-finals at Norwalk, and Englishtown in his rookie season.
After the 2015 season, Prusiensky was ready to make a move and build a new car, enter Jerry Haas Race Cars. JHRC laid the frame work for the new Dodge Dart body, and the aerodynamic package after the swap to EFI over the winter months. James Hooker put the paint gun to work and laid down a beautiful blue paint scheme, including the sleek airbrushing of replica Dart dash to top off the interior.
One thing that stood out to us at DragZine was that Alan’s engine shop, ARC Race Engines, built the powerplant under the hood of the Dart. Numerous teams outsource their engine programs to other teams, but Alan took the time and pride to build his own engine. The plan for Prusiensky is to complete the season and run the rest of the scheduled NHRA events.
Alan was quick to thank his wife, Christine, who lets him chase his dreams every day, and his father who has been to every race since 1993 in the sportsman bracket days. The car is sponsored by ARC Race Engines, and Motorsports Unlimited, to of which Prusiensky was very appreciative of their continued support over the years. Be on the look out for the bright blue Dodge Dart this weekend when the NHRA Route 66 Nationals goes live!
