The National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) announced today the 20-race schedule for the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series. The forthcoming season promises to be a remarkable one, featuring significant anniversaries and culminating in the historic 60th running of the In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals in Pomona.
The 2025 campaign will commence at the Gainesville Raceway for the third consecutive year. The 56th annual Gatornationals, set for March 6-9, will kick off NHRA’s 74th year of existence as a sanctioning body. Notably, the season will celebrate 25 years of racing at both The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Route 66 Raceway in Chicago. Additionally, the Lucas Oil NHRA Winternationals in Pomona will mark its 65th anniversary, while Firebird Motorsports Park in Phoenix, Texas Motorplex in Dallas, and Maple Grove Raceway in Reading, Pa., will each commemorate their 40th anniversaries. The state-of-the-art zMAX Dragway in Charlotte will celebrate its 15th anniversary of four-wide racing.
The 2025 schedule includes a total of 20 races across premier facilities nationwide. Apart from the prestigious NHRA U.S. Nationals, scheduled for August 27-September 1 in Indianapolis, and the Virginia NHRA Nationals, every event will feature four qualifying sessions: two on Friday and two on Saturday. The U.S. Nationals will feature five qualifying sessions, while the Virginia event will have three qualifying sessions on Saturday as part of its two-day format.
“It has been a terrific 2024 season, and we’re thrilled to continue to build off that momentum and excitement and reveal our dates for the upcoming 2025 season,” says NHRA President Glen Cromwell. “We visit so many incredible facilities and we’re so thankful for the amazing fan support we receive at these tracks across the country. It takes great teamwork to put together our national event schedule, and we appreciate all the race teams, track partners, and sponsors that play a huge role in this process. We’ve enjoyed a lot of special moments this year, and we look forward to continuing that this year and into our 2025 season as well.”
