Nitrous Outlet’s “Orange Juice” Ultra Street Camaro Set to Debut

Orange Juice 4David Vasser and his crew at Nitrous Outlet are looking to take their 1999 Camaro project car “Orange Juice” and crash the small-tire racing party next season. Vasser’s project car was born from the desire to have a fast and safe race car, and then got taken to the next level with some quality parts. The Camaro will make its debut at Lights Out 7 in February in the Ultra Street class.

Orange Juice 5Since Vasser’s company, Nitrous Outlet, has been growing so much, so quickly, the Camaro had to take a backseat until now. Vasser has made sure during the build to keep the car flexible so it could fall into several different classes, and even grow into others over time. The plan for Orange Juice is to run Ultra Street, LSX Real Street, and Limited X275 next season with Vasser behind the wheel.

Vasser originally purchased the car wanting something that was nice, safe, and turnkey; what he got was the opposite after he tore into it. After realizing he was better at working with nitrous systems than doing chassis work, Vasser sent the Camaro to Madman Chassis to get the upgrades he wanted and to meet all of the safety criteria.

Orange Juice 6Eric at Midwest Chassis provided all the suspension goodies for the Camaro to go with the Afco shocks, Moser 9-inch rear end, and Madman torque arm. John at J&M Collison Center will be laying down the final coats of orange paint and getting the body in tip-top shape. After the car is returned from the body shop, Vasser is shipping the car off to Brian Black at Racewire Solutions to be wired.

Powering the Camaro will be an LS2-based, 402 cubic-inch engine that will be wearing a set of Brian Tooley Racing 235 Trickflow heads, Mast cathedral port intake manifold, and a 4500 Accufab throttle body with 2-inch Kooks headers expelling the exhaust gasses. A Nitrous Outlet dry stinger plate system will be used to fill the engine with giggle juice in Ultra Street trim and a dry direct port system will be ready for the quicker classes when needed. A Holley Dominator EFI system will be used for engine control and tuning on the car.

Vasser’s plan is to get some shakedown passes in for baseline data, and then it will be time to squeeze project Orange Juice and see what shakes loose. Look for this clean Hugger Orange Camaro to be a big player after Vasser gets the car figured out.
