Upon the release of the Evo X back in ’08, the guys over at Extreme Turbo Systems and English Racing were among the very first to dive into the the uncharted territory that was the 4B11T.
Like previously partnered builds, ETS went on to build the vehicle and supply the goodies, while English took care of the testing, tuning, and enjoying. Not even one year after the project’s start date, the car set a new horsepower record– then, quickly after, broke the 9-second barrier.
After hitting the 1,000+ horsepower mark and becoming the most powerful Evo X on the planet, it went on to set two more records: 1, the fastest half-mile Evo X @ 200.35MPH and, 2, the fastest Evo X overall, with a 8.85-second pass @ 172MPH. Afterward, the driver, Lucas English, said, “Keep a watchful eye out for this car, as we’re far from done with it yet.”
… He was right.
TX2K, dubbed “The Super Bowl of Street Car Racing,” took place last month– As usual, drawing insane builds from all over the country. We were completely stoked for Gidi and his 6-second AMS GT-R, but when this Evo popped up on our livestream, we couldn’t help but dig a little deeper into it.
Turns out, ETS and English have now topped their own record, bringing their quarter mile down to an 8.48 @ 164MPH.
We can’t wait to see what comes next from the team, but we’re sure we’ll be seeing 7s from them soon enough.
