Video: In-Car View As Chevette Gets Loose And Slaps The Wall!

It’s no secret wrecking your car at the drag strip really sucks. Everyone sees it, and unless something just outright broke, you’ll probably have your share of critics. However, there’s little consolation for the fact you have to load up your wrecked blood, sweat, and tears, and carry it home. If it makes on to YouTube, or other viral avenue, the pain can linger forever. If we find it…well, we’ll go ahead and apologize now.

vette

For the pilot of this Chevette, he does everything right when his pass goes wrong. First of all, a short wheelbase car, once it gets out of shape, is harder to rein in than something a little more common in length. And our boy here, looks like something let loose, causing fluid to get under the rear tires because the car goes sideways before he can catch it. Right when he clicks second, or high gear if he’s running a ‘Glide (hard to tell, but could be a ‘Glide), the ‘Vette makes a hard left turn out of nowhere. He tries to gather it up, but he’s going sideways before he knows it. The driver does his best driving job, but he still ends up slapping the wall.

Guys and girls, if you’re a drag racing newbie, what the gentleman does is a lesson for everyone. After he hits the wall he makes sure to keep the car out of the groove. In this case, we’re pretty sure some type of fluid got under the tires, and after hitting the wall there’s an even greater chance of fluid leakage. If you want to look like you know what you’re doing, if you have an incident like this guy, keep the car close to the wall, and out of the groove. That will keep clean-up time to a minimum. And it’ll keep your fellow racers from getting pissed at you because they’ll still get in a few passes in their own cars. And we guarantee if you keep clean-up time to a minimum you will have a few new friends there to help you load up your blood, sweat, and tears.
